What's New with the Website?
- 2/2/06 - Added e-mail page, and now faq about encoding. Now, for the first time, people can write me and complain about the low encoding quality.
- 12/4/05 - Added some questions and finally posted the about page.
- 9/13/05 - First Park Hopping Podcast teaser episode submitted to iTunes.
Older News (from front page):
- 10/19/05: As heard on Apple's "iTunes Podfinder XI" podcast.
- 11/22/05: I've been BoingBoinged again! Unlike last time, this time I was prepared...
- 12/01/05: The videos should be back now, re-encoded and new ones added.
- 12/04/05: We've been digg'd! (Just barely.) Do you "dig" the 3-D videos? If so, go here and digg it and we'll see if we can bring this server to a crawl if it gets enough hits. (Just kidding! I've already pushed more bandwidth five days into December than I did all of October. Gack.)
- 12/24/05: Merry Christmas to all six of my listeners!
- 1/12/06: New Disney theme park news podcast, Kingdom Herald, coming soon! (I hope...)
- 3/1/06: The PriusCast was mentioned in a review for Podcast Maker at Macworld Magazine. Spiffy!
- 3/5/06: Apparently I'm part of the Disney Podcast Network now, with a message board. (Formerly know as the S.A.T.P.N.)
- 3/18/06: And counting: [an error occurred while processing this directive]
- 3/23/06: Okay, fine. You can call me, too: (206) 20-30-ACP (227).
- 4/11/06: My server suffered a power outage and blew its hard drive and the backup hard drive. I am having to re-upload all the podcasts (and don't even talk to me about having to regenerate 30,000 Disney photos for DisneyFans.com).
- 4/18/06: Most of the old podcasts should be available now. Also, Doctor Who: Podshock played an audio comment from me in their #34 show. W00t :-)
- 5/17/06: All but three of the 3-D video podcast episodes are back. I also recovered my experimental stat counter script I was writing before the crash which gives me motivation to get back to work. So... a new podcast has been started: The Disgruntled Disney Dweeb Podcast.
- Useless counter: 768426
- 6/13/06: The hotline has changed to (206) 30-90-227. Also, if you want to see what I've been up to with other podcasts, check out my YouTube.com video journal.
- 6/25/06: I've been moving lately, and am almost done. I've also included the video podcast I do for an upcoming "theme park" on this page.
- 7/20/06: My friend says Troy Needs an iPod but does he really? I think I Need an iPod More than Troy. Drop by my site and vote! (No donations required.)
- 8/21/06: I've been blogged. Thanks, St. Chris! (Oops, now everyone knows we're plotting something...)
- 10/29/06: I've posted several new Park Hopping Podcast episodes over the past few days, with several more to follow. Also, Park Hopping is no longer a member of the Disney Podcast Network. I am not a message board guy, and message board participation is required to be a member, so out I go, but there are still plenty of other podcasters there so drop by.
- 11/13/06: 3-D video podcasting has resumed! Recently posted: Billy Hill and the Hillbillies and The Jungle Cruise from Disneyland!
- 12/12/06: I'm back from my first Disney World vacation since November 1999. I'm nowhere close to going through all the previous digital audio/video from 1999, so who knows how many years it will take for me to sort through all the HDTV video I shot this trip. Also, it looks like I'm going to be doing some professional podcasting for an advertising agency starting in January for three months. Details on that soon.
- 1/13/07: Happy 2007, everyone! I've been very busy with my paying podcast gig lately, but I plan to find time to spin out some other episodes in the near future. Just as soon as I'm done with Issue #9 of the Regional Renaissance Reporter magazine...
- 1/20/07: The Priuscast is now a featured podcast for a Toyota promotion. See www.winapriusonline.com for details.
- 2/25/07: Last chance to my Priuscast Blog over at the Toyota site. The final episode will be posted Monday. And in other news, a surge in activity lately has caused problems with my custom "useless counter" I use to track podcast downloads. Ooops. A software engineer's job is never done...
- 3/3/07: The "Win a Prius Online" contest is over and the winner will be announced soon. It looks like I will continue to post Priuscast blog entries over at ToyotaLiveWeb.com, though. Not much else going on except my counters are all screwed up now.
- 3/14/07: The 2007 season of the Pirate Comedy Show Podcast has begun. Check out show #14 today! Or tomorrow. Whenever. It's a podcast. And in other news, my useless counter has broken.
- 3/26/07: Something wicked this way comes... Details later this Spring.
- 4/8/07: I have over 2.6 terrabytes of hard drive storage filled with video projects, podcast files and photos. After having three Western Digital hard drives die on me, I switched brands and now maintain a backup of every drive. My primary backup is two 250GB drives in a RAID mirror array. With all of this, you'd think I'd be in good shape. Alas, last night my main RAID backup drive got scrambled somehow. I purchased a $99 disk utility which churned away for hours and restored the directories. I think my photos are intact (my #1 priority) but now the drive has 115GB free space. The damaged files all appear to be my podcast master files. It looks like every podcast I've ever done is now gone, other than the mixdowns I posted. Ah well. This means no more remixes or reposting of any old episodes (and will hamper the Pirate Comedy Show compilations we've been selling at our live performances). The next podcast I post may be the last of the "Crappy Podcasts" for awhile.
- 4/26/07: Recovery nearly complete. Meanwhile, new video podcast. Details soon.
- 6/27/07: Priuscast set to resume soon, and new iPhone podcast started.
- 7/29/07: Added link to my Prius milage spreadsheet.
- 8/4/07: Navigation link updated to list more of the shows I do, and now the links go to new Wiki show notes pages (work in progress).
- 7/18/08: Once again, one of my voice mail numbers has been cancelled, and the free service I was using does not let you re-activate a specific number. "You get what you pay for!" (I don't feel too bad. I have several friends using this service that have had the same thing happen to them.)
- 7/29/2008: I cleaned up the Wiki a bit today, adding subscription links to each page. Also, if the web server statistics can be trusted, this month I've been seeing over 27,000 downloads per week! Most of this comes from the 3-D video podcast, but it's still staggering.
- 8/15/2008: "As seen on TWiT Live with Leo Laporte from the 2008 New Media Expo in Las Vegas." (Thanks to ACP's Steve, who is there representing our shows at the convention.) See the screen captures of the interview, taken by DuckMan.
- 9/18/2008: iPhone users -- be sure to check out my Appdiction.com iPhone blog, updated usually every day.
- 6/13/2009: FYI, Park Hopping Podcast (sometimes weekly) and Priuscast (monthly) are the two most-often produced shows at this time.
